The number that matters
A request-unit counter you can't ignore
Cosmos DB bills by request unit, not by row. Cosmo keeps the running RU cost of what you just did on screen, in both tiers — because knowing what a query costs is part of using Cosmos well, not a premium feature.
Connection test before you save
The account form signs a real request first. A wrong key fails there, not three screens later.
Optimistic writes
Every save carries the document's _etag as If-Match. If someone changed it since you loaded it, the write fails instead of overwriting them.

Your key stays yours
Cosmo talks directly from your device to your Cosmos DB account, signing each request with HMAC-SHA256. The master key is stored in the iOS Keychain or the Android Keystore and never leaves the phone in readable form. There are no Pixel du Nord servers in the middle, no analytics and no trackers.
