Licenses

Last updated: 24 August 2026

Parqués is not open source, but it is built on work that is. This page lists what the game ships that somebody else wrote, and under what terms.

Fonts

All three are licensed under the SIL Open Font License, Version 1.1. The full text of each licence ships with the app and lives in android/licenses/fonts/ in the game's source.

  • Titan One — Copyright © 2011 Rodrigo Fuenzalida, with Reserved Font Name Titan. OFL 1.1
  • Fredoka — Copyright © 2016 The Fredoka Project Authors. OFL 1.1
  • JetBrains Mono — Copyright © 2020 The JetBrains Mono Project Authors. OFL 1.1

The OFL permits use, study, modification and redistribution of the fonts, including in a commercial product, on the condition that they are not sold on their own and that any modified version does not carry the reserved name.

Platform components

The game is built with each platform's own toolkit — Jetpack Compose and the AndroidX libraries on Android, SwiftUI on iOS — under the Apache License 2.0 and Apple's SDK terms respectively. It also embeds the Google Mobile Ads SDK for the advertising described in the privacy policy, and Google Play Billing / StoreKit for the subscription.

The art and the rules

The board, the pieces, the intro screen and the reaction icons are Pixel du Nord's own and are not licensed for reuse. The rules of parqués are not ours to license: it is Colombia's game, played for generations before any of this, and the house rules this version implements are the ones a table actually plays.

Asking about any of it
