1. The game
Parqués is an online board game for Android and iOS published by Pixel du Nord LLC ("we"). By installing or playing it you agree to these terms.
2. Your profile
You can play with just a nickname. Adding an email is optional and exists only so you can recover your profile on another phone. You are responsible for keeping that password to yourself; anyone who has it has your profile.
A profile with no email cannot be recovered by anyone, us included. That is not a limitation we can waive: without an email there is no way to prove the profile was yours, and we will not hand someone else's profile to whoever asks.
3. What you may not do at the table
Nicknames and pictures that are insulting, hateful, or that impersonate somebody else may be removed. So may accounts used to harass other players. We would rather not do either, and we will if we have to.
Do not automate the game, do not use a modified client, and do not exploit a bug in the rules engine instead of reporting it. The server is authoritative — it rolls the dice, validates every move and decides who wins — so the practical effect of trying is small, but the account consequence is real.
4. The subscription
Parqués is free to play. The optional monthly subscription removes the ads. It is billed by Google Play or the App Store, it renews by itself until you cancel it, and the current price is the one the store shows before you confirm. Refunds are handled by the store under its own policy, not by us — we never see your card.
Cancelling is done in the store, not in the game, and this matters more than it sounds: deleting your account does not cancel your subscription. If you delete the account and leave the subscription running, the store keeps charging you. Cancel it first.
5. Ads
The free version shows ads served by Google AdMob. We ask before showing you the first one, and on iPhone the system asks as well; refusing means the ads stop being personalised, not that the game stops working. What AdMob receives is set out in the privacy policy.
6. Games in progress, and the people in them
A table is played with other people, so leaving one is not free: a turn clock can time you out, and a table can vote unanimously to remove a player who has vanished. If your connection drops the game plays for you for two minutes and gives your pieces back where they were. None of that is a penalty we apply by hand — it is how the table keeps working for everyone still in it.
Games are kept for 24 hours after the last move and then delete themselves. A game that ends because the server was restarted, or because a bug had to be fixed, is a game whose result is gone; we do not restore records by hand.
7. No warranty
The game is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. We do not warrant that it will be free of errors or interruptions, that a game will always finish, or that the service will be available at any particular moment.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pixel du Nord LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from use of the game — including lost games, lost record, or a lost profile that had no email attached. Our total liability shall not exceed what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
9. Ending it
You can delete your account at any time, from Profile → Delete account in the game or from this page. We may close an account that breaks section 3. Either way the deletion takes 30 days, during which it can be undone.
10. Changes
We may change the game or these terms. A changed version appears on this page with a new date, and if the change is one that matters we say so inside the game.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, USA.
